Here we go again. The season starts on the 31st December with 4 tournaments. Really looking forward to a whole season at the tennis. I've again tweaked the selection process and looking at making the staking a little more aggressive which this year (2007) would have returned around 20% ROI. For those of you using the RFSP 'avg plays' will be set at '1'. The bank this year will start at $1300.00 as that is rounded down from last year.
RFSP:
Plays: 0-0
Bank: $1300.00
Profit: $0
ROI: %
FIXED:
Plays: 0-0
Bank: $1300.00
Profit: $0
ROI: % |

Can't wait for tennis, the only thing to bet on is the NBA and NHL. These half point losses in NBA are killing me.
12 days to go! |

I'm not sure what you mean. In the tennis I just pick a player to win. I look for value and the odds will not be under 1.75 and usually will not be over 3.00.
If you're talking about the RFSP as opposed to FIXED then that's my staking method. I have a spreadhseet called RFSP which in my opinion is the best thing I have ever seen. I only keep track of both so people can see the difference in outcome. |

G'day Stone Cold,
Yes, I was referring to RFSP. How does that spreadsheet work? |

| Crow: It is a staking spreadsheet and it's probably easier to show you than what it is to explain. If you give me your e-mail I will send you a copy and you can have a play. Basically it is designed to start off betting 1% of bank and a maximum of 5% of bank. If you lose the next bet increases, if you win then the bet decreases. But if you're infront of your bank then the floor rises. You really do need to see it to appreciate it. |

| SC: Another question. You said earlier that you have a starting bank of $1300. Curious on your money management techniques when it comes to sports betting. Do you maintain a seperate 'bank' for each sport you bet on? Or an overall bank, or combination of both? |

Crow: I have a different bank for each sport. I don't like to mix. Basketball is going crappy at the moment while NHL is going ok. If I lost a bank on a particualr sport then my overall bank is still intact. That $1300.00 will be my bank for tennis. I started tennis in 2007 with a bank of $1000.00.
E-mail sent. |

| SC, what does the 'Average Plays' variable mean? You mentioned that you have it set at 1. Is this 1 play per day, per week, etc? |

It just means how many plays will you have on an occassion. Last season for the tennis I had it set at 4. The higher you have it set at the less aggressive the bets. If you look at my tennis sheet I have the same date but sometimes I have a 2 or 3 next to it. That's because sometimes the games are on the same day but the matches are after each other and I can wait for a result before I put the next bet on. I've played around with the tennis and if I remove every bet under 1.75 and adjusted the avg plays to 1 then it would have made almost 20% roi. I've seen some guys have their avg plays set at 10 because they don't want it to be very aggressive.
Each sport is different. In the NBA for system 'B' I have it set at 2. This season there is not a great difference between 1 or 2 but last year if the setting was at 1 I would have gone -10% ROI but having the setting at 2 I made 19% ROI. You will need to do some research and find what works best for you. I'm still debating about having the tennis set at 1. It's very aggressive and it can quickly turn pear shaped. |

Three men's tournaments start tomorrow:
ADELAIDE : Play starts 11:30 AEST
CHENNAI : Play starts 21:30 AEST
DOHA : Play starts at 23:00 AEST
I've changed my mind on the avg plays on the RFSP. It will be set at 3, the staking will not be anywhere near as aggressive with the ROI not being all that different. |
