Does anybody here partake in live betting on matches? Whilst watching the soccer tonight i noticed a couple of interesting things in regards to live betting.
On centrebet live betting was available for the socceroos game. At one point we received a penalty at which time the price for the draw was $6. It did not update until about 30 seconds after the goal was scored after the penalty at which point the price came in to $2. Has anybody tried to capitalise on this time lag before?
On sportsbet.com.au they offered live betting on the Japan match. As soon as Japan scored their first goal the price came into $1.16. This price then remained the same up until the 68th minute when betting ceased. Surely you would consider 1-0 after 68 minutes much more favourable than 1-0 after 2 minutes. |

Hi amnesiac,
I think theres quite a few that take part of live betting (trading) on matches.
The key is tog et on at different stages of the match to lock in profits whichever way the scores end up.
With the lag situation are you sure these prices are still available made sure your browser was properly refreshed because normally in these types of matches the prices are changing all the time. |

positive about the lag on sportsbet as the 'time left' field keep updating.
as for centrebet, they did not touch the odds until after the socceroos had equalled the scores. when a player is going for a penalty he has about a 75% of getting it in so really the odds should have come in as soon as the penalty was awarded. instead they gave it after the goal was scored and there was a certain lag of some time.
interesting strategy you suggest. have you had much luck with this form of betting? |

| amnesiac if you do not already have an account with betfair I suggest you get one. it is a trader's paradise and with some practice you should be able to learn how to lock in profits on most sporting events. |

| With regards to live betting, last night I couldn't bet on the Nadal-Hewitt match, however I could bet on the winner of the French Open despite the odds heavily fluctuating. Managed to get Nadal at 2.40 just after Hewitt took the first set, then laid him at 2.00 later in the match. My point is, if Betfair don't have that Green "In-play" tick, you can bet on it, even if the outcome is based on a live event. |
